What to expect at an Embellees Workshop

We have been answering lots of enquiries about our Workshops and we promise we are going to put up some 'sneakie peakies' to tantalize you shortly.

More about our
Let's Get Misting Workshop

As avid scrapbookers we were very excited about the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist hitting the Oz Market.  But like all scrapbookers we asked ourselves if we would find ourselves caught up in the 'hype', buying something we had little knowledge of (except for our blog stalking) and then putting it away with the rest of our ever growing stash.

I for one (Lizzie) did not want to spend over $10 on one bottle (and who ever stops at one colour) to find I did not get good use of it or, worse still didn't really feel confident using it.

Now I know as scrapbookers we love to experiment so there was a good chance I could waste a bottle just playing and not being satisfied with the results - because remember my only introduction to the product had been online tutorials (few and far between) - was I really going to use it to it's full potential?

Once the Embellees Team had been to the Tattered Angels/Heidi Swapp - Mystified Event in Sydney we came home with a greater understanding of how this product could change the way we scrap.  So we decided to run this Workshop to help you gain that knowledge, get hands-on with the product without having to outlay all the $s before you really know what you want and what you are going to do with it.

We will be introducing you to:
  1. The basics on how to use the product properly
  2. How to blend colours together (oooh sooo many options here)
  3. Using the Glimmer Mist masks and other items you already have in your stash or around you to do the talked about Masking effect
  4. Stamping with Glimmer Mist ... but wait there's more - stamping with your masks so as to not waste any precious drops of Mist!
  5. Using other stamping products like embossing to create 'resist' backgrounds for you to spray on (come on most of us have done stamping/embossing and still have a heat gun we purchase at a craft show one time or another)
  6. Using Glimmer Mist to change all sorts of embellishments and different products
A lot of workshops cost big $'s ... our price is only $45.00 for the day and this includes your kit.  No more matching papers or searching for that elusive product to bring along.  We will bring all the extra bits and pieces for you to play with to complete your album.  We will however, ask you to bring your usual tools.

But wait there is more... you will get to leave the Workshop with a very special extra that will help you with your Glimmer Misting at home (a little gift from the Embellees Team).

So before all the spots fill up, please get your booking made and don't find yourself sitting on the wait list.

Go to our Workshop tab above and follow the directions to get your booking started today!

Workshop Enquiries - Thick and Fast - Thank You!!!

How exciting, we have had so many enquiries for our first Workshops

It appears that a lot of our local ladies feel the same way as the Embellees Team

We wanted some great workshops locally ... no more travelling down the F3 and paying for accommodation.  Workshops that explore technique, challenge us to 'think outside the mass produced embellishments and paper ranges' (not that we don't love these).

This is a big venture for the Embellees Team we are so excited to try and get this happening in our local area ... come on ladies let's make it work, let's get our local scrapping and crafting 'sisterhood' doing some great stuff, getting out from behind our PC's and our scrap tables (ooohhh I mean dining tables).

Bookings for the first of our Workshops Let's Get Misting being held on 4 July 2010 at Edgeworth Bowling Club will close on 20 June, 2010

The Workshop Kit is great with an eclectic mix of goodies for you to explore, not to mention a chance to try out Glimmer Mist and see if you too want to become addicted like us (ooohhh soooo many colours to choose from).

Join us for a worthy cause.....

The Embellees Team are very proud to be part of the Newcastle Fundraiser this year.  Check out the blog http://www.newcastlefundraiser.blogspot.com/

Over the last few years we have been attending these wonderful 12 hour crops that the wonderful Miss Mandy organises locally.  They are a great day, filled with lots of scrapping, workshops, prizes, fun, laughter and friendship... all in the name of a good cause.

The Embellees Team are going to offer a 'quickie make and take' on the day and dazzle you with some fabulous flowers to add to a special little project you will complete.

Anyone who participates in our 'quickie make and take' will also be spoilt with some lovely Embellees to take back to their scrap table. It will be first in to register on the day for a small donation to join in our 'quickie'!

Put the date in the diary:  21 August 2010

get a group together ... it sells our really fast .... let's all help Mandy raise as much money as she can for the Hunter River Community School for Special Needs Children.

Our Concept = Fusion Scrapbooking

The Team at Embellees have finally found a way to explain
our approach to scrapbooking.

Fusion Scrapping
A combining of crafts into one single scrapping experience!

We love the idea of incorporating all the crafts we have experienced or 'dabbled' in over the years.  The idea of stitching, stamping, painting, collage... oooh the list is endless.  We also love using all the tools we have piled high in our craft cupboards/rooms/garages.  Re-inventing uses for all those long forgotten purchases, depleating the stash and making use of a variety of goodies that are now being re-purposed for our craft.

Why not join us on this journey and check out the list of Workshops we have just opened for registrations.

Click here or on the Workshop tab above for more details.

We have been Mistified!!!

The Embellees Team have been busy on the 'learning' side of things this last week.  Miss Lisa and I headed off to Sydney and took part in the wonderful Tattered Angels - Mistified Roadshow.  What an amazing experience - we have had to say our 'best ever scrapbooking event'.  The products are sensational, meeting the lovely Wendy and Heidi was amazing and, to have them share their knowledge, skills... talent... what more can I say.  The things we learned with Glimmer Mist has to be seen to be believed... so stay tuned as we are about to get 'misting' and create some beautiful new creations to show off here and sell in our Etsy Store!

Check out Heidi Swapp's Blog .....  Can you see us... oooh that's right we are in the back row... but trust me our hands looked just as stained and gooooeeey as everyones and we just looooovvveeeed it!!!
