Try It Tuesday - Adhering Kaiser Bling Embellees

Try it Tuesday
24 August 2010

As you know, 'Try it Tuesdays' are all about those creative bods willing to share their talent and inspire us.

To celebrate the 'sisterhood' this week I wanted to share a great tutorial I found that has helped me solve one of my biggest 'scrapbooking dilemas'.

I have a serious addiction to Kaiser 'bling'... you know the ones I mean, the gorgeous rhinestone words, butterflies, flowers, arrows (oh yeh I have a lot of these in my stash).  What I don't love about them is not being able to get them from the packaging to my page without a tangled mess - when they usually end up in the garbage and not on my page (I can hear you agreeing, see you nodding your head.... yeh come on admit it has happened to you too).

Well the lovely Deanne Stewart- Mills  and Tracy Wyldman over at 'Little Scrap Shop' have the best tutorial on how to solve this dilema and I wanted to share it with you all!  Not only do they offer one solution, but they have two tricks to share and I have tried both and they work brilliantly!

Kaiser Bling Stick Trick - Just click here to go the tutorial and like me you will be sticking your Bling on your next layout and passing on this great idea at your next crop......

No Email - we are sorry!

Wouldn't you know it... we have such a great day on Saturday at the Fundraiser, give out heaps of flyers and talk to lots of fellow scrapbookers... tell them to send us an email or 10 and then Telstra strikes!

Yes, at 7:18 am yesterday for some unknown reason, Bigpond shut down all of Lizzie's email addresses - according to them, because she requested it.. NOT!

We are now back up and running and with many apologies from the lovely Telstra Techo, much investigation on their part and might I add very quickly... shame the lady I got in the Philippines was not as helpful the first time around...

So if you tried emailing us at our email address:  embellees@bigpond.com and it bounced back, please resend.... Here's to a much better day in 'techo land'

Sneaky Peek - Fun with Fabric Workshop

We are having so much fun putting the finishing touches on our Fun with Fabric Workshop

So much so... we have doubled the number of layouts you will be making on the day... yes that is right ... no longer a 3 layout day... but a 6 layout day.

Nothing feels better than getting a whole heap of layouts done at a Workshop... to come home with a sense of accomplishment, knowing you have learnt new techniques, pushed your creative envelope and gone outside your comfort zone (not to mention sharing good times with your fellow sisters in the craft)!

Now remember, no sewing experience required... we will guide you on the bit of machine stitching you need to do... there is so much out there once you start incorporating fabric on your layouts

Numbers are building for this Workshop... so please get your registration email to us so you don't miss out.

News to Share

Yesterday the Embellees Team had a fabulous day with 75 other scrapbookers at our annual charity fundraiser.  It was wonderful to know that we were contributing to raising funds for one of our local schools and a big Thank You to the lovely Mandy and Reggie who ran a great day ... at last count I think the day had raised around $2,500... so congrats to everyone who attended and spent up big time!

The Embellees Team had a chance to show off with a quick 'Make and Take'.... here is the lovely layout that we made the flower embellees for.

For all the lovely ladies who attended, check out our Workshop Photos Tab above and the rest of the photos of the layout are there for you to work from as promised.

We were so pleased to introduce our new venture and each of the ladies who attended received a very cute Embellees pack as a give away.

Miss Lisa out did her herself with a gorgeous layout that showcased how to use the 'embellees' in the pack and, again as promised here is a pic of the layout for anyone who attended the fundraiser for a 'scraplift' opportunity. More pics have been uploaded to our Workshop Photos Tab above.

The Embellees Team would also like to congratulate the lovely ladies who were lucky enough to win 2 seats at our upcoming workshops in the raffle.  We so look forward to you joining us ....

Congratulations:

We have had so much interest in our upcoming Workshops we are about to do a series of blog posts with lots of sneaky peaks.  Sadly, we have had to put our usual workshop fee up to $50 for our one day workshops as the venue has had a price rise.  We will make sure we keep our workshop kits 'chockers' so you are getting the same great value and attention to detail that the Embellees Team strive for.

To get your creative juices flowing here are some sneaky peaks of our Field of Flowers kit packaging... so cute and as those who have already attended an Embellees Workshop know... the 'secret' is definitely in the packaging, as this also ends up being part of your Bonus Layout Kit!
