Fun with Fabric - Look at our Workshop Layouts!

This Sunday - 26 September we will be presenting our Fun with Fabric Workshop.  We thought as we were so close to the Workshop we would show you the beautiful layouts that our Workshop participants will be completing.

We have had so many enquiries regarding our Workshop Kits that we will be launching a new venture very shortly where we will offer some of our Kits after each Workshop for purchase .... so stay tuned!

So here are our beautiful layouts - we hope they inspire you to join us at an Embellees Workshop in the future or to order one of our kits when we launch our new venture in early October.

For the 'lovely ladies' joining us on Sunday - these should help you decide which of your beautiful 'pics' will suit to bring along.....

Pretty as a Princess

This beautiful layout is created with an eclectic mix of media from paper napkins,  masking tape, cupcake liners and that all important 'fabric'.

Banners are making such an impact on so many layouts it seemed like a great idea to feature our fabric in this very popular style.

This layout would not be complete without some gorgeous 'Stampin Up'  background stamps....

Zoo Animals

In this gorgeous layout our fabric makes a real statement as the background  - a great way to utilise fabric pieces and cardstock already in your stash!

Some great examples using those 'alpha stamps' and tags you probably also have hanging around in the craft room/space...

Shabby Chic

This beautiful layout will have our Workshop participants working with the much loved 'shabby chic' style.

We couldn't resist a layout with all things 'girlie' and the much loved 'dress forms' that Lizzie is so into at the moment.

We will have you stamping your background, collaging the dressform and much more on this beauty!

Dream Big

We couldn't have everyone thinking they needed to have a sewing machine or thread a needle to use fabric on their page - so this is a 'no sew' fabric mix.

A great way to use up lots of 'left overs' to create a layout that will suit any photo.

Workshop participants will be using everything from transparencies, paint, stamps, the very popular doillies, felt, string, buttons and you guessed it 'fabric'.

Love Grows

This layout features a beautiful canvas tree using the 'very large' Donna Downey stamps - not quite the finished layout when our picture was taken - so Workshop participants will be getting a bit more in this beautiful layout kit when they join us.

Butterfly Kisses

On this our final Workshop layout the ever popular butterflies are featured - always a favourite with scrapbooking - these gorgeous fabric butterflies complete this simple, but very tasteful layout.

Try It Tuesday - Cupcake Pom Pom Tutorial

Try it Tuesday

21 September 2010

As you know, 'Try it Tuesdays' are all about those creative bods willing to share their talent and inspire us.

To celebrate the 'sisterhood' this week I wanted to share a great tutorial I found making gorgeous 'pom poms' with cupcake liners.

Now anyone who knows me - will tell you I have a serious addiction to all things 'cupcake'.  Yes, it is true I 'blog surf' just to find things to do with cupcake liners (well I have to justify buying so many cute ones on Etsy).

Well this is my latest must have link from the very creative ladies at 'How Does She' and guest 'blog poster'  Heidi:

I know a lot of you have been doing the 'napkin and tissue paper' versions of pom-poms, but trust me these are just as cute and sturdier in shape.  What a great way to use the left-over cupcake liners sitting in your pantry or maybe co-ordinate your cupcakes and decorations for the next party.

I can see a holiday craft project for my 8 year old next week - now to find some silver and purple cupcake liners to have them ready for Christmas .... does this mean another excuse to buy more from Etsy?
I think so!

Here's to a good week!

Lizzie

Fun with Fabric Workshop

We are on the countdown to our
Fun with Fabric Workshop on
26 September.  We have a few places left in the class so if you are interested, please check out our Workshop Tab above and send us an email letting us know you are interested and we will take it from there.

Remember an Embellees Workshop is not just your average Scrapbooking Workshop, but a whole day experience with everything provided in your kit for just $50.00!!!

We had so much fun creating the Fun with Fabric Workshop that we increased the kits to allow us to make 6 great layouts on the day.  There is a layout to suit everyone.... gender neutral, a bit of shabby chic/vintage, children, babies... a great collection that is sure to inspire!

Here is a 'sneaky peek' of what we have created - we are sure this will tempt you, not to mention excite the lovely ladies who have already secured their booking and are joining us next week.

So if you are interested - get in quick as we are finalising the kits and we would love you to join us!

Try It Tuesday - Adhering Kaiser Bling Embellees

Try it Tuesday
24 August 2010

As you know, 'Try it Tuesdays' are all about those creative bods willing to share their talent and inspire us.

To celebrate the 'sisterhood' this week I wanted to share a great tutorial I found that has helped me solve one of my biggest 'scrapbooking dilemas'.

I have a serious addiction to Kaiser 'bling'... you know the ones I mean, the gorgeous rhinestone words, butterflies, flowers, arrows (oh yeh I have a lot of these in my stash).  What I don't love about them is not being able to get them from the packaging to my page without a tangled mess - when they usually end up in the garbage and not on my page (I can hear you agreeing, see you nodding your head.... yeh come on admit it has happened to you too).

Well the lovely Deanne Stewart- Mills  and Tracy Wyldman over at 'Little Scrap Shop' have the best tutorial on how to solve this dilema and I wanted to share it with you all!  Not only do they offer one solution, but they have two tricks to share and I have tried both and they work brilliantly!

Kaiser Bling Stick Trick - Just click here to go the tutorial and like me you will be sticking your Bling on your next layout and passing on this great idea at your next crop......

No Email - we are sorry!

Wouldn't you know it... we have such a great day on Saturday at the Fundraiser, give out heaps of flyers and talk to lots of fellow scrapbookers... tell them to send us an email or 10 and then Telstra strikes!

Yes, at 7:18 am yesterday for some unknown reason, Bigpond shut down all of Lizzie's email addresses - according to them, because she requested it.. NOT!

We are now back up and running and with many apologies from the lovely Telstra Techo, much investigation on their part and might I add very quickly... shame the lady I got in the Philippines was not as helpful the first time around...

So if you tried emailing us at our email address:  embellees@bigpond.com and it bounced back, please resend.... Here's to a much better day in 'techo land'

Sneaky Peek - Fun with Fabric Workshop

We are having so much fun putting the finishing touches on our Fun with Fabric Workshop.

So much so... we have doubled the number of layouts you will be making on the day... yes that is right ... no longer a 3 layout day... but a 6 layout day.

Nothing feels better than getting a whole heap of layouts done at a Workshop... to come home with a sense of accomplishment, knowing you have learnt new techniques, pushed your creative envelope and gone outside your comfort zone (not to mention sharing good times with your fellow sisters in the craft)!

Now remember, no sewing experience required... we will guide you on the bit of machine stitching you need to do... there is so much out there once you start incorporating fabric on your layouts

Numbers are building for this Workshop... so please get your registration email to us so you don't miss out.

Register by emailing us at:  embellees@bigpond.com

News to Share

Yesterday the Embellees Team had a fabulous day with 75 other scrapbookers at our annual charity fundraiser.  It was wonderful to know that we were contributing to raising funds for one of our local schools and a big Thank You to the lovely Mandy and Reggie who ran a great day ... at last count I think the day had raised around $2,500... so congrats to everyone who attended and spent up big time!

The Embellees Team had a chance to show off with a quick 'Make and Take'.... here is the lovely layout that we made the flower embellees for.

For all the lovely ladies who attended, check out our Workshop Photos Tab above and the rest of the photos of the layout are there for you to work from as promised.

We were so pleased to introduce our new venture and each of the ladies who attended received a very cute Embellees pack as a give away.

Miss Lisa out did her herself with a gorgeous layout that showcased how to use the 'embellees' in the pack and, again as promised here is a pic of the layout for anyone who attended the fundraiser for a 'scraplift' opportunity. More pics have been uploaded to our Workshop Photos Tab above.

The Embellees Team would also like to congratulate the lovely ladies who were lucky enough to win 2 seats at our upcoming workshops in the raffle.  We so look forward to you joining us ....

Congratulations:

We have had so much interest in our upcoming Workshops we are about to do a series of blog posts with lots of sneaky peaks.  Sadly, we have had to put our usual workshop fee up to $50 for our one day workshops as the venue has had a price rise.  We will make sure we keep our workshop kits 'chockers' so you are getting the same great value and attention to detail that the Embellees Team strive for.

To get your creative juices flowing here are some sneaky peaks of our Field of Flowers kit packaging... so cute and as those who have already attended an Embellees Workshop know... the 'secret' is definitely in the packaging, as this also ends up being part of your Bonus Layout Kit!
